Welcome to National Child Research Center Preschool!

Young children are wise and wonderful, sensitive and strong.  They are naturally curious and they are eager to learn.  At the same time, they are impressionable and vulnerable.  A child's first school experience must be nurturing, stimulating, and accommodating.  For over 80 years, NCRC has put sound early childhood theories into successful practice at the most critical stage of children's development.  We teach our children to govern themselves, to care for each other and the world, and to prepare for living productively in a community.  Come see our joyous children at work and at play; listen to them as they find their own unique voices; and watch them explore and discover.  Witness an inspiring process that sets the stage for healthy, positive growth and a bright, shiny future for each and every one of them.

Our Mission

Founded in 1928, the National Child Research Center provides a collaborative approach to preschool education in an environment that nurtures the whole child, fosters partnerships with families and is committed to the inclusion of children with special needs.

A highly trained, multi-disciplinary faculty employs developmentally appropriate practices, supported by ongoing professional development and sound research. Essential to its role as a model of early childhood education is the creation of a diverse, respectful community. Both within and beyond the school community, NCRC seeks opportunities to advocate for all children and their families.
