Wise Words

You may not know this about me but I am a dyed-in-the-wool, hardwired baseball fan. And, before you ask — yes, this is a relatively new thing for me. And no, it's not just any baseball team — just the Washington Nationals. I'm really not quite sure how it happened, but it did. I love watching them play. And yes, I was one of those crazy people in the stands last night after the spectacular thunderstorm, cheering when Michael A. Taylor hit the walk-off that saved the game. It was a rather unique experience and when I have grandchildren one day, I will be able to say to them with pride, "Yes, granny was there."

 


There are a lot of reasons to love baseball: the skill it takes to throw a pitch, singing "Take me out to the ball game" at the seventh inning stretch, the racing presidents, oh, and hot dogs (how could I forget the hot dogs?). But in all seriousness, watching the Nat's lose and come back for a win last night is another reason I really love baseball. Baseball players know how to take risks and deal with failure. They understand what it means to take a chance and the cost of having it fail, but getting up to tackle it again. Read more...

TIME TO UPDATE YOUR CHILD's Required Medical and Administrative Forms - Seriously!

 

  • For all families with children enrolled for the 2018-19 school year and Rainbow Camp this summer, you must submit all completed and updated documents by June 1, 2018.

 

  • All Forms must be uploaded on the Magnus Health portal. NCRC will not be able to accept any physical forms.

They will be held outdoors, so here are a few reminders:


 -Wear your NCRC Color Class T-shirt! 
- Wear Sneakers
-Wear a hat
-Apply sunscreen
-Bring water bottle (optional)

Join us at Politics and Prose on Saturday, June 2nd from 9am-10pm for a Book Fair to Support the NCRC Library!

 

Mention NCRC to the cashier, and

20% of your purchase will help support NCRC and its Library Program. 

 

We're looking for a handful of parent volunteers to help sit at the NCRC table in shifts throughout the day. A great opportunity to relax at the bookstore and chat with fellow parents!

  Please forgo membership discounts so that the entire purchase may benefit NCRC. Gift certificates, special orders, memberships, and coffee house items are excluded from this opportunity.

Summer Playground Playdates

Come to NCRC to play on any of the following dates! Our hope is to connect families, build positive experiences for your children during the summer months, and provide the opportunity for current and incoming families to meet ahead of the school year.

 

Drop-in and meet new friends! You can sign up through the Sign Up Genius link (if you want the reminder a couple of days in advance) or just show up when you are available! 

 

June 9, July 14, August 25 @ 10:00 AM on the NCRC Playground.
