If you look at the daily news, it may seem that the United States of America is anything but united. Immigration, patriotism, healthcare — pick a topic close to your hearts — it's obvious that we have differences in opinion. These differences are not only expected, but also needed, because they allow for the kind of discourse and debate that looks at all sides of an issue. The week of October 2-9 is "How Does Your Engine Run?" week at NCRC. We will be equating vehicle engines with our own bodies and how we all need fuel, occasional pit stops, and how we can regulate our engines to be fast, medium, or slow. We are asking parent volunteers to bring in and supervise exploration of their cool vehicles on the playground (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday) at either 10:30-11:15am or 2:30-3:15pm. A kayak or canoe, a motor cycle/dirt bike, ATV or maybe even a cool truck or car to park in front of NCRC for that short time.
