Preschool Program (Ages 3-4)

The Preschool student is beginning to learn about inquiry and problem solving.

In the preschool tier, children engage in individual discovery and exploration with increased independence. As they build new connections and maintain old friendships, children begin to understand how to advocate for themselves, develop and understand empathy as well as perspective taking. The program supports preschoolers as they further develop ideas of self and others, self-management skills, and various play styles.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

  • Children develop and maintain relationships
  • Develop self-management and functional skills
  • Engage in individual discovery and exploration with increased independence
  • Further develop the expression of their thoughts and ideas
  • Children begin to develop or understand empathy, and perspective taking
  • Start to understand how to advocate for themselves
  • Children work on sharing their ideas, materials, and space, while listening to and respecting the ideas of their peers
  • For example, children work together using wooden blocks to build a rocket ship that they then share with the rest of the class

SCHEDULE

  • AM Program: 8:30 am–11:30 am
  • AM Plus Program: 8:30 am–12:30 pm
  • PM Program: 12:30 pm–3:30 pm
  • Full-Day Program: 8:30 am–3:00pm
  • Later Gators Extended Day Program: 3:00 pm–5:00 pm

All programs participate in the following weekly specials:

  • Music led by Levine School of Music
  • Library
  • Mindful Movement  (integrated program of motor skills, yoga, and mindfulness)
